How do I create my first note?

Simply visit notepal.me and start typing! Your note will be automatically saved. You can add a title to your note using the title field above the editor.

What's the difference between local and cloud mode?

Local Mode: Notes are stored in your browser only. No account needed, completely private, but notes are only available on the current device. Your data never leaves your device. Cloud Mode: Notes are synced across all your devices. Requires a free account (no credit card), allows unlimited notes with cross-device synchronization, and provides automatic cloud backup with SSL/TLS encryption.

How do I share my notes?

Click the share button next to your note to generate a unique, shareable link. You can set an optional password for sensitive content to protect access. Anyone with the link (and password if set) can view your note, but only you can edit it. You can also track how many times the shared note has been viewed.

What file formats can I export to?

NotePal supports exporting to PDF, DOC (Microsoft Word), TXT (plain text), and you can also print directly or copy to clipboard. All export options are completely free.

Is my data secure and private?

Yes! We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. In local mode, your notes never leave your device. In cloud mode, we don't collect, analyze, or sell your data. Your privacy is our priority.

How many notes can I create?

In local mode, you can create unlimited notes (limited only by your browser's storage capacity). In cloud mode with a free account, you can also create unlimited notes with cross-device synchronization. Each note can contain up to 20,000 characters.

Can I use NotePal offline?

Yes! NotePal works offline in local mode. Your notes will be saved locally and will sync when you're back online if you're using cloud mode.

Notes not saving

Check your internet connection. In local mode, notes are saved to your browser's storage. Try refreshing the page.

Can't access shared note

Verify the link is correct. If password-protected, ensure you're entering the correct password.

Export not working

Try using a different browser. Ensure the note has content before exporting.

Night mode not saving

Your theme preference is saved in your browser. Clear browser data may reset it. Try toggling the theme button again.

Fullscreen mode issues

Press ESC to exit fullscreen mode. If stuck, refresh the page. Some browsers may require permission for fullscreen.
